The Sound Of Mbira

by blissful virtuous

This is our first sample pack that we recorded and produced for Frontline Records / Loopmasters. It has an average user rating of 5 out of 5... not bad for a first attempt eh? :)

In their words,"Frontline Producer is proud to present a beautiful collection of sonically perfect African Thumb Piano loops and samples, for producers of many styles looking for the sublime sound of Africa.

These samples were carefully recorded to capture the magic that is the Mbira, which is a thousand year old instrument that was used in ceremonies and accompanied by singing, dancing and storytelling.

Close your eyes and let the sounds take you to the sun setting over the veldt.

All of these instruments were carefully recorded using class A pre amps and compressors straight into the digital domain to bring authentic sounds without losing any of the quality.

The pack aims to give maximum flexibility to producers wanting to bring the sound of Africa to any genre.

With progressions, arpeggios, FX, one hits and musical percussion, the Sound of Mbira brings you the sights, sounds and smells of Africa with this beautifully recorded, inspirational collection.

As all Mbira's are custom built we have chosen our favourite 4 to bring you a beautiful range of sound and keys.

The Rockwood - A gorgeous Mbira that has been on many world studio albums.
Nyama - A smaller, more compact Mbira.
Dan - A Mbira with minor tonality. It is very unusual to find a Mbira like this.
Ami - South African Mbira with a great sound

The Sound Of Mbira weighs in at over 1.26GB and features loops, recorded at 24Bit and between 80 - 130 Bpm. Included are 313 Loops and 162 one shot samples. Also included are 7 ready to play patches for Halion, EXS, SFZ, Kontakt and Reason NNXT compatible soft samplers.

The Sound Of Mbira is a fantastically played and recorded selection of royalty free samples, with inspirational melodies and authentic African feel.

Suitable for House, Drum and Bass, Dubstep Producers, TV and film composers and anyone looking to add a taste of Africa to their Mixes."
